Morning Guided Walk at Todaiji Temple

Sumidera Shingyo Sutra Transcription Experience
Transcribe the "Sumidera Shingyo" from Kairyuoji Temple—a manuscript embodying the deep history of Nara—during your stay in the room.
This sacred text, written approximately 1,300 years ago, is said to have been transcribed by the great monk Kukai to pray for the safe voyage of Japanese envoys to Tang China. As a representative work of sutra transcription from the Tenpyo era of the Nara period, it has been passed down through generations. Immerse yourself in the peaceful act of transcribing, resonating with the spirit of the ancient capital.

Nature
Hiking: Takisaka-no-Michi Path of Samurai Training
Experience Takisaka-no-Michi path, a mountain trail once walked by those training as samurai. Starting from within the city of Nara, climb along the valley between Mount Kasuga and Mount Takamado, make your way to Yagyu-no-Sato, one of Japan’s most famous places for kendo, and discover historic sites where Japanese legends still remain to this day.

Hiking: Mount Wakakusa and Forest Bathing

Reservation and Cancellation
Reservation
- We accept reservations for programs up to three months in advance.
- The deadline for making reservations for our programs is seven days prior to the desired program date.
- We accept reservations at our Reservation Center or FUFU NARA.
- Please speak to a FUFU NARA program staff member regarding reservation details.
- Please note that weather or other factors may make it impossible to reserve your desired program on your desired day. The schedule is also subject to change based on guests’ physical condition, the weather, etc.
- Decisions regarding whether or not to go ahead with an activity due to weather will be made by 6:00 p.m. the night before the day of the activity. There is no cancellation fee for activities cancelled due to weather.
Cancellation
- Cancellation fees for cancelling within six days before an activity are as follows:
6 days to 3 days 50% of total price 2 days to 1 day 90% of total price On the day 100% of total price - Decisions regarding cancelling a tour due to a storm, snow, etc., will be made by 6:00 p.m. the night before. There is no cancellation fee for tours cancelled due to weather.
